In a shocking turn of events that nobody could have foreseen, today’s post is…again about cats.
More specifically, it’s about our cat preparations. While some cat gadgets are undeniably insane, many are useful and even necessary.
Scratching posts are just such necessities. If you don’t provide your cat with some alternative scratching options, rest assured that your sofa will do just fine. We quite like our sofa, so we decided to get the upcoming cats a few good scratching posts. Our friend that’s fostering the cats was kind enough to get us a simple scratching post from the shelter. However, we wanted our cats to scratch in style, so we’ve done research and made a shortlist of a few cool scratching environments…
…only to make an impulse purchase today, while shopping for groceries. Turns out they had a very nice scratching post at the supermarket. It has now been dragged home, carefully assembled, and is awaiting the imminent cat invasion.
Allow me to proudly present to you…The Shreddinator 3000:
To be honest…I think it’s way too nice for the cats to scratch. I’m currently looking for ways to shrink myself so that I can move into this palace. I’ll let you know if I’m successful.
Alright, I promise to tone down the cat post overkill. I’m just excited about the whole cat thing, in case you couldn’t tell. Could you tell?
Sometimes, that alternative to the sofa is actually the dresser, the wall, the curtains, your bed, and/or your arm… and then they get to the sofa.
I do like the Shreddinator 3000 though. It’s much nicer than my rarely used scratch piece. π

True true, you never know what those little bast…cats will be scratching next. Let’s hope the Shreddinator 3000 will become their favourite prime target. That is, if I’ll allow them to touch it…I’m kind of getting attached to it.

lol. You need Alice’s “eat me” mushroom (it was a mushroom, right?) to shrink down and be living the life… and then just hope the tinycats hate your new domain.

I don’t dislike that idea! Off to search for mushrooms!

Very pleased to see the positive examples of merchandise devoted to cats. But still, I can just see your cat lounging up there in the penthouse part with an electric blue wig, Cher-like.

Ha, thanks for that image…now I won’t be able to see my cats using this scratching post without feeling like something’s missing. Something…fabulous.

Wow, talk about pampered felines. That’s the most stylish scratching metropolis I’ve ever seen. Perhaps you could bedazzle it with some diamonds?

I do believe the “Bling Pack” is an accessory to this baby, which includes diamonds and rare teeth of sabre-toothed tigers.

I have a post with “kitten” in it coming up, but it has nothing to do with cats. So, in that spirit, which has nothing to do with nothing, I am forgiving you this ,yet, another cat post…. π
I hope the cats enjoy the post more than your sofa.

I am intrigued and shall be looking out for the “kitten” post to come out!
Yeah let’s hope the sofa isn’t that interesting for them…because it’s quite interesting for us.

I think you should get them a plainer scratching post that you can put in a neglected corner, that way they won’t ruin the pretty, new scratching post you bought them! It’s the same logic my grandma used when we had eat on paper plates because she didn’t want to ruin her pretty china π
You and your bride to be are so incredibly cute for being so excited and making so many preparations when you don’t even have the cats, yet! You can write all the posts you want about your kitties…I love it. I, myself, can’t do tons of cat posts because of that whole ‘crazy cat lady’ thing, but I think you are safe from the stigma π

Ha, we actually will get that “second hand” scratching post from the shelter, so maybe we’ll avoid having this palace ripped to shreds in the meantime!
Yeah I think we’re both excited to have our first “own” pets. I grew up in a household with lots of cats, dogs and other animals, but this will be the first pets I take care of on my own.
I say you should go ahead and mix your dog posts with some cat pots and it will all balance out quite nicely π

I like your style! Let’s just hope your cats agree… or it’s off to search for new sofas, next… π
